📊Fantasy Overview

Brighton have no premium assets at all: Jack Hinshelwood and new arrival Babajide David top the squad at £6.0m, with Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh just behind at £5.9m, and everything else cheaper still. Danny Welbeck, previously joint-top of that bracket, has since joined Chelsea. The defence is almost entirely £4.5m, Verbruggen and Dunk both included. What Brighton actually offer fantasy managers is a deep pool of £5.0-5.5m attackers with genuine quality, any of whom can produce a haul — set against the heaviest rotation of any mid-table side in the league.

🔁2026/27 Transfers That Change Your Picks

  • ↑ OUTDanny Welbeck, To Chelsea. Removes one body from a crowded forward line, which marginally improves the odds for Kostoulas, Rutter, Tzimas and Ferguson.
  • ↑ OUTCarl Rushworth, To Coventry City. Bart Verbruggen is now the clear first-choice goalkeeper at £4.5m.
  • ↓ INBabajide David, From Hull City at £6.0m FWD. Adds competition in a crowded forward line alongside Rutter, Kostoulas, Tzimas and Ferguson. Check starting lineups before buying.

Premium Picks

There's no real premium bracket here — £6.0m is the hard ceiling. Mitoma is the pick of the bunch, a direct wide attacker who both creates and finishes, with Minteh offering similar threat from the other flank. Hinshelwood at £6.0m has the most secure midfield role. With Welbeck sold to Chelsea, Rutter at £5.5m is now the most experienced forward, and Babajide David, in from Hull at £6.0m, adds fresh competition up top. None of this demands a premium slot, which is precisely the appeal.

💷Budget Enablers

Brighton's defence is cheap right across the board. Verbruggen at £4.5m is the first-choice budget goalkeeper, with Steele at £4.0m the purest bench filler in the game since Carl Rushworth left for Coventry, and Dunk, Kadioglu, Julio, Boscagli, Coppola, De Cuyper and Costinha all sitting at £4.5m. Kadioglu and De Cuyper are the two with real attacking upside. Vušković, Struijk and Wieffer at £5.0m are the slightly pricier but more established alternatives.

🎽Captaincy Options

Brighton simply aren't a captaincy side. Nothing above £6.0m, and a manager who rotates aggressively enough that you can captain someone who's off the pitch by the hour mark. In a genuinely soft home fixture, Mitoma is the most defensible differential armband — but in an ordinary week, put the captaincy on a premium forward somewhere else.

🎯Differential Picks

This squad is unusually rich in them. Kostoulas, Rutter, Tzimas and O'Riley all sit at £5.5m, with Ferguson, Gómez and Buonanotte at £5.0m — genuine attacking talent at next to no ownership (Carlos Baleba has since moved on to Manchester United). Ayari at £5.4m and Gross at £5.6m are the set-piece routes. Any one of these can win you a gameweek the moment they get a run of starts.

⚠️Players to Avoid

Rotation is the defining problem here, worse than almost anywhere else in the league. Brighton now carry five forwards priced £5.0-6.0m — David, Kostoulas, Rutter, Tzimas and Ferguson — competing for one or two places, and the midfield is just as congested. Never buy a Brighton attacker without checking the last two lineups, and don't own two from the same unit at once. Their £4.5m defenders rotate too, so treat them as enablers rather than reliable clean-sheet picks.

Brighton & Hove Albion Fantasy Football FAQs

Kaoru Mitoma at £5.9m and Yankuba Minteh at £5.9m are the most direct attacking threats, with Jack Hinshelwood the most secure midfield role at £6.0m. Babajide David (from Hull City, £6.0m FWD) is a new forward arrival to monitor. The defence is cheap throughout at £4.5m, including Bart Verbruggen in goal and Lewis Dunk. Live prices are in the squad table above.

Rotation is the single biggest risk at the club. Five forwards priced £5.0-6.0m compete for one or two places, and the midfield is similarly congested. Brighton assets can still be excellent value, but only if you check the two most recent lineups before buying and avoid owning two players from the same unit.

Charalambos Kostoulas, Georginio Rutter, Stefanos Tzimas and Matt O'Riley at £5.5m, plus Evan Ferguson, Diego Gómez and Facundo Buonanotte at £5.0m, are all genuinely talented at very low ownership. The key is confirming a run of starts first. That is what separates a differential from a wasted slot.

As enablers rather than reliable point-scorers. Lewis Dunk, Ferdi Kadioglu, Maxim De Cuyper and several others all cost £4.5m, with Kadioglu and De Cuyper offering attacking upside from full-back. Bart Verbruggen at £4.5m is a cheap goalkeeper. Rotation applies in defence too, so confirm lineups.

One or two, and usually from the cheap end. A £4.5m defender as an enabler plus one attacker you have confirmed is starting is the sensible structure. Because of the rotation, Brighton work better as fixture-specific picks than as season-long holds.
