Ipswich Town field one of the lowest-priced squads in the game, and that's still the entire fantasy function — with one new exception. Every recognised defender bar one costs £4.0m — Ben Johnson, Leif Davis, Issa Diop, Cedric Kipre, Darnell Furlong and Jacob Greaves — with goalkeepers available at £4.0-4.5m. Dara O'Shea has departed to Fulham. The exception is Dango Ouattara, arriving from Brentford at £6.4m: comfortably the most expensive name in the squad, and a genuinely different kind of pick from everything else here. Beyond him, the squad tops out at £5.5m, where Jaden Philogene, Jack Clarke, Fatawu Issahaku and Emersonn sit.

Ouattara's arrival at £6.4m is the closest thing Ipswich have had to a premium pick all season — pace and direct attacking threat from a full-back slot, priced well above anything else in this squad. Below him, Jaden Philogene, Jack Clarke and Fatawu Issahaku (all £5.5m) are the attacking midfielders with the most individual quality and the likeliest sources of a return. None of the rest is a genuine premium pick, and none should occupy a starting slot in your squad unless the fixtures are unusually kind.

This is still the main reason to look at Ipswich. The rest of the defence costs £4.0m — Johnson, Davis, Diop, Kipre, Furlong and Greaves (O'Shea departed to Fulham) — which is the floor price in the game. Goalkeepers from £4.0m. Leif Davis is the pick of the £4.0m defenders for set-piece delivery. These remain the cheapest enablers available anywhere, Ouattara aside.

Still not a captaincy squad, even with Ouattara's arrival. One attacking full-back doesn't change a side that remains one of the lowest-scoring attacks in the division, so there's no real scenario where an Ipswich asset justifies a doubled score. Their players belong in your squad as £4.0m bench and defensive filler that funds a premium striker elsewhere — keep the armband well away from them.

Ownership runs low enough across this squad that basically any Ipswich starter counts as a differential. Issahaku and Philogene at £5.4m are the two most likely to produce a surprise haul from wide. Zian Flemming has joined as a new forward option alongside Emersonn, both at £5.5m. Szmodics and Núñez at £5.0m are the midfield punts, and Jack Taylor has since departed for Aston Villa.

Don't pick Ipswich defenders expecting clean sheets — at £4.0m they're the cheapest in the game precisely because those clean sheets are rare, so own them as enablers and nothing more. The forward line is a genuine rotation mess too, with Emersonn, Akpom, Al-Hamadi, Hirst and Walle Egeli all priced £4.5-5.5m and fighting for one place. I'd avoid chasing Ipswich attacking returns altogether.
