A Player Draft is the opposite of a normal fantasy game. Nobody can own the same player, so you cannot just copy the template everyone else uses. You and two or three friends take turns picking real Premier League players for a gameweek, then score points from what they actually do in the matches. It takes one sitting and it is free.
Set it up
- 1. Open Player Draft and choose what you are drafting: a whole gameweek, several gameweeks, or individual matches. Every club playing in your selection is available.
- 2. Choose how many managers play, from 2 to 4.
- 3. Pick the squad size (5, 7, 9 or 11 players) and the position limits, for example 1 goalkeeper, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders and 1 forward. You can also cap how many players come from one club.
- 4. Choose the pick order: snake, rotation or a custom order. Set the time per pick.
- 5. Share the invite code. Your friends join with it, and the draft starts when everyone is in.
How the picking works
In a snake draft you pick in order, then the order reverses each round, so the person who picks last in one round picks first in the next. Rotation shifts the starting manager every round instead.
When it is your turn, pick a player while the countdown you set runs. Everyone sees the order, who has picked whom, and whose turn is next.
Pick Now: grab a player out of turn
If a player cannot legally be taken by any manager between the current pick and your next one, a gold Pick Now button lets you take him immediately, without waiting. The manager whose turn it is still keeps their turn. The player has to fit your squad's position and club limits.
How a draft is scored
Your squad scores Premier League matchday points from real matches: playing time, goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, defensive contributions, bonus points and cards. The manager with the most points when the matches are done wins. In-lineup markers appear once starting XIs are confirmed, and injured players show a flag in the pool, so you can avoid a pick who is not going to play.
Tips for your first draft
- Draft a goalkeeper late. A clean sheet is only +4 and saves add +1 for every three, so keepers score far less than attackers.
- Grab the in-form attacker with the best fixture early. Points from goals are what win drafts.
- Check the injury flags and confirmed lineups before your pick.
- Use Pick Now when the player pool for a position is drying up.
