How does Fantasy XI scoring work?

Quick Answer

Points come from real match stats: goals (4–10 pts depending on position), assists (+3), clean sheets (+4 for GK/DEF, +1 for MID), saves (+1 per 3), and deductions for cards, own goals and goals conceded.

Every player earns +1 point for appearing (under 60 minutes) or +2 points for playing 60+ minutes. Goals are worth more the further back you play: +10 for a goalkeeper, +6 for a defender, +5 for a midfielder, and +4 for a forward. Every assist is worth +3 regardless of position.

Defenders and goalkeepers earn +4 for a clean sheet (midfielders get +1, forwards get 0), and goalkeepers get an extra +1 for every 3 saves plus +5 for a penalty save. On the downside: −1 for every 2 goals conceded (GK/DEF only), −1 for a yellow card, −3 for a red card, and −2 each for an own goal or missed penalty.

Your captain’s total is doubled and your vice-captain’s is multiplied by 1.5×, so those two picks matter more than any other decision in your squad.
