A single gameweek plays by different rules
Drafting for one gameweek isn't the same game as season-long fantasy. Long-term value matters less here โ what matters is this specific fixture, this week's expected minutes, and the actual routes to points in front of you.
Rank the fixtures before you rank the players
Work out which fixtures look like clean sheets, which look high-scoring, and which have the most certain lineups โ before you even start ranking individual players. Then find the best names inside the best fixtures, not the other way round.
Minutes beat reputation, every time
A superstar who starts on the bench is a risky draft pick, full stop. A less famous player with a locked-in role, set-piece duty, or real defensive contribution potential is the more reliable choice, even if the name means nothing to anyone else in your league.
What a balanced draft actually looks like
- One goalkeeper with clean-sheet or save potential.
- Defenders who can earn clean sheets or attacking returns.
- Midfielders with set pieces, shots, or defensive volume.
- Forwards who start centrally and play long minutes.
- Avoid too many players from one unpredictable match.
