Where the numbers come from
Season stats (appearances, goals and assists) come from the official match records of each competition. International caps and goals come from each national team's official records and the players' public career records. Fantasy points use the published scoring rules of each game, and we show those rules next to the numbers.
We do not estimate, extrapolate or round up. If we cannot confirm a number, we leave it out. That is why you will sometimes see a dash instead of a stat.
How we check them
Before a head-to-head or a player page gets a written take, every claim in it is checked against more than one record. Career honours, records and dates are matched to the players' public career pages and the competition's own records. When two sources disagree, we resolve it by hand and keep the figure we can support, or drop the claim.
Numbers that change (caps, goals, this season's stats) are not written into our prose. They are filled from our database every time the page is rebuilt, so the sentence and the table cannot drift apart.
How often it updates
Season stats for the most-viewed players refresh every week, and the most-searched head-to-heads rebuild daily. International records are re-checked after every international window. Each editorial block shows the date its facts were last checked.
The editorial facts on the star player and head-to-head pages were last verified on 26 October 2026.
What is opinion
Anything labelled "Our call" or "Editor's take" is a judgement from our editorial team, and we say why. It is separate from the figures, which are never adjusted to fit the argument.
What we do not claim
We do not publish player ratings we cannot source, or tracking data such as sprint speed or distance covered. When someone searches for those, we say we do not track them rather than guess.
Corrections
If you spot a wrong number or date, tell us. Use the Report an issue button on any page or email support@footballdream.in. We check every report and fix confirmed errors within 48 hours, and we update the "last checked" date when we do.
