How the La Liga Predictor works
The FootballDream Predictor is simple to set up and free to play: 1. Sign in or register at FootballDream (free, 30 seconds) 2. Go to Predictor → Create game → select "La Liga" fixtures 3. Share your invite code with friends 4. Before each match kicks off, submit your prediction: exact score, anytime goalscorer, and whether to activate Power Play 5. Watch points update as the goals go in You can create a single-match game for one fixture (e.g. Real Madrid vs Barcelona) or a multi-match league covering an entire Jornada or the full season.
Scoring: how points work
- Correct match result (home / draw / away win): +1 point
- Correct exact score (e.g. 2–1 Real Madrid): +3 points
- Correct anytime goalscorer (any of your up to 3 picks scores): +2 points each
- Power Play activated on a correct result: doubles ALL points for that match
- No prediction submitted before kick-off: −100 points penalty
Power Play — the game-changer
Power Play is the single biggest lever in your arsenal. Activate it on any one match per round and your points for that fixture are doubled. Nail the exact score in an El Clásico with Power Play active and you bank 8 points in one fixture. Strategy tip: don't waste Power Play on low-scoring, cagey derbies. The highest expected-value targets are high-scoring home favourites — Real Madrid at home to Getafe, Barcelona at home to Levante, Atlético against a struggling promoted side. Save Power Play for when the maths is in your favour.
Single match vs. multi-match league
The Predictor supports two formats: **Single match**: Create a game for one fixture. Perfect for big occasions — El Clásico, the Madrid derby, Barcelona vs Atlético. Share with friends and see who calls it. Low commitment, high drama. **Multi-match league**: Select 2 or more fixtures from the same Jornada (or across multiple weeks) and run a season-long prediction league. Points accumulate, the leaderboard updates after every match, and the winner is the person who read La Liga football best across the season. This is the full FootballDream Predictor experience.
Top La Liga fixtures to predict in 2026/27
- El Clásico — Real Madrid vs Barcelona: the season's defining fixture. Both teams will win and lose at least one. Pick your moment for Power Play.
- El Derbi Madrileño — Atlético vs Real Madrid at Riyadh Air Metropolitano: one of the most intense atmospheres in world football.
- Sevilla vs Betis — the Seville derby (El Gran Derbi) at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán: always tighter than the league table suggests.
- Athletic Club vs Real Sociedad — the Basque derby (Euskal Derbia): fierce, physical and rarely a comfortable prediction.
- Barcelona vs Atlético — La Liga's best tactical encounter: Simeone vs Flick, structure vs fluidity.
- Real Madrid vs Atlético — when Vinicius meets Simeone's defensive wall: low-scoring, high-tension, always decided by fine margins.
Goalscorer predictions — who to back
The anytime goalscorer question awards +2 points for each correct pick (you can predict up to 3 goalscorers). The best strategy is to pick consistent scorers from high-volume teams — not the form player of the week. For La Liga 2026/27, the most reliable anytime goalscorer picks are: **Vinicius Júnior (Real Madrid)**: scores or assists in virtually every Real Madrid fixture. His directness and pace make him one of the highest probability scorers in La Liga. **Lamine Yamal (Barcelona)**: entering the season as Barcelona's primary attacking threat. His directness, technical ability and willingness to cut inside and shoot make him a near-automatic goalscorer pick whenever Barcelona are heavy favourites. **Julián Álvarez (Atlético Madrid)**: Simeone's proven No.9. Consistent, clinical and a World Cup winner — expect double figures across the season. **Ante Budimir (Osasuna)**: the most reliable scorer outside the top three. Osasuna concede few and Budimir is the focal point — in winnable home fixtures, he's a solid +2 points pick at underpriced odds.
The −100 penalty: why you must predict before kick-off
If you are in a Predictor league and fail to submit a prediction before a match kicks off, you receive −100 points. This is intentional — it rewards players who engage with every fixture and prevents free-riding on matches you choose to skip. Set a reminder before each Jornada. The prediction window closes the moment the referee blows for kick-off. Late by 30 seconds? −100 points. This is the most common mistake new Predictor players make — and it often decides who wins the league.

La Liga 2026/27 Predictor: season preview picks
Before placing your first prediction, here is our season-long read on the key La Liga storylines: **Real Madrid to win La Liga**: strongest squad, best manager track record, Vinicius at his peak. Predict a Real Madrid win in most of their home fixtures — they should be scoring 2+ goals regularly at the Bernabéu. **Barcelona to push them close**: Lamine Yamal + Pedri (fit) + a solid defensive setup gives them title credentials. In El Clásico at Camp Nou, Barcelona narrow, even slight favourites. **Atlético to grind top four**: Simeone makes them hard to beat and Julián Álvarez is a goal machine. In matches where Atlético are at home, expect 1–0 or 2–0 clean sheets — precise score predictions, not 4-goal thrillers. **Promoted teams as upsets**: Levante and Racing Santander are capable of producing surprise results — they have top-flight experience. When they host mid-table sides early in the season, take the underdog.
