Leaderboard strategy is really risk strategy
Winning a prediction leaderboard isn't about being bold every single match โ it's about knowing exactly when to bank the safe points and when it's actually worth chasing upside.
Play differently depending on where you sit
Leading the table? Avoid unnecessary Power Play risk โ you don't need the swing. Chasing from behind late in the season? Target fixtures where opinion is genuinely split, since that's where an accurate exact score can move you up the table fastest.
Questions worth asking about your own misses
- Do you over-pick favorites?
- Do you underrate draws?
- Do you use Power Play too often?
- Do you pick exact scores that are too high?
- Do you ignore confirmed lineups?
The boring edge: just submit every match
In most friend leagues, people simply forget to submit predictions for half the fixtures. Making every single prediction before kickoff, no exceptions, is one of the easiest edges in the entire game โ nobody talks about it because it's not exciting, but it works.
